How to Be Strong on Aion

Aion is an online roleplaying game developed in Korea and published by NCsoft in North America, Europe, Japan, Taiwan and Russia. It is a highly visual game known for its high-quality graphics, and contains both player-versus-player and player-versus-environment elements. As such, depending on your play style, you may pursue different types of gear and weapons as you level up. Becoming strong involves getting to know the strengths and weaknesses of your class as well as getting high-level gear for battle.

Instructions

  1. Know Your Class

    • 1

Practice different strategies against monsters your level or a bit higher. Figure out what spell combinations work in the best order and for your class. For example, a Spiritmaster works best when his enemies are kept far from him and his spells last, while a melee class like the Gladiator can stun the enemy and cause high amounts of damage. Learn is by experimenting as each class has its own responsibilities.

    • 2

Read guides and strategies for your class and battle as a whole. Fighting involves more than just spamming buttons; to get the best effects, you need armor and weapon enchantments that best suit your play style, different gear for when you're fighting monsters and other players, and the right kinds of spells for different situations. Detailed guides can tell you exactly what you need, or at the very least, how to get started.

    • 3

Organize your skill bars and hotkeys. If you find that you're having a difficult time using spells in the right order, or are accidentally pressing the wrong keys, move your spell icons around in a way that lets you get to your most frequently used spells more easily. Don't just stick to the default icons or put your skills in one by one in any order; use what works best for you. This may take some time, but once you find an organization that works, you'll notice an improvement in both speed and efficiency.

    Get Your Gear

    • 4

Run dungeons appropriate for your level. If you've reached the level cap, find groups with a legion or in chat to run different dungeons often to get max-level gear appropriate for your class. If you can, run with a group with a variety of classes. This not only makes fighting a bit easier, but means less competition for when a rare item drops. Item drops are class-specific, so if a cloth item drops and you are the only cloth-wearing player, it's yours.

    • 5

Save up Crucible Insignias to get high-level PVE gear. The Crucible is free to run, and can be run both with a group and solo to save up insignias; these in turn can be exchanged for Eternal (orange) gear, which is some of the best in the game. While running dungeons for other gear, you can run the Crucible instances on the side to help boost the gear you are able to attain. The Crucible instances are also great practice for working as part of a team and dealing with a large number of enemies at once.

Save Abyss Points by running the Dredgion instances, the Abyss fort instances, Esoterrance and defeating players of the opposite faction in battle. You can also turn in AP items, which give you a quick AP boost, to Shugo vendors in the Abyss core by Divine Fortress. AP armor and weapons are PVP-based and sought after by most players for their high-level stats and power. Most of this will be obtained in the late to end game, and takes a lot of effort and patience to get, but it is worth it.

Socket your armor with the appropriate manastones (items that boost certain stats). What manastones you want to use will depend on your class and playing style for that class. When in doubt, consult guides to see what manastones work best for your class. Higher class armor (such as fabled and eternal items) have more slots for stones, but have a higher chance for socketing failure.
