The Best Glyphs for a 45 Warrior on World of Warcraft

Unlike higher-level characters, your level 45 warrior only has access to one glyph slot for each type of glyph, which can be frustrating when you are trying to get the most out of your character and don't know which glyph is the best to use. Consider your talent specialization and the abilities you use most frequently to identify the best glyph of each type.
  1. Protection

    • The choice of prime glyphs for your protection warrior is restricted to two. If you have placed a talent point in the Devastate ability, use Glyph of Devastate; if you haven't, use Glyph of Shield Slam until you do, at which point you should replace it with Glyph of Devastate.

When selecting major glyphs, consider which abilities you use often. If you use Thunder Clap more frequently than Cleave, use Glyph of Thunder Clap, while if the situation is reversed you should use Glyph of Cleaving. Glyph of Victory Rush may be a good choice if you frequently use Victory Rush, especially while questing alone.

Glyph of Battle, which increases the duration of your Battle Shout, is the most useful minor glyph for a protection warrior.

    Arms

    • When choosing a prime glyph for your arms warrior, consider which glyph will increase your damage the most. Glyph of Mortal Strike is the best choice, as it offers a direct damage increase on a frequently-used ability. Glyph of Overpower also directly increases the damage of one of your abilities; however, because Overpower is only usable after your target dodges, you will most likely end up using Overpower less frequently than Mortal Strike.

The choice of major glyphs is less clear-cut. Glyph of Sweeping Strikes removes the rage cost from the ability; if you frequently find yourself having low rage after using Sweeping Strikes, using this glyph may be worthwhile. If you quest alone frequently, Glyph of Long Charge helps you move faster from one enemy to another, while Glyph of Victory Rush helps you keep your health up while fighting multiple enemies.

When considering minor glyphs, you have a choice between two of them. If you frequently use Sunder Armor, Glyph of Furious Sundering can be useful due to the rage cost reduction it offers; if you don't, you should use Glyph of Battle.

    Fury

    • The best prime glyph for your fury warrior is Glyph of Bloodthirst, a glyph that provides a direct damage increase for a frequently-used ability. Other glyphs, such as Glyph of Raging Blow and Glyph of Slam, increase the critical chance of an ability rather than the damage, and therefore are likely to provide a lower damage increase than Glyph of Bloodthirst, since your total critical chance at level 45 is most likely fairly low.

Glyph of Death Wish, a major glyph, removes the increased damage taken penalty from your Death Wish ability; if you find yourself not using Death Wish because of the penalty on it, you should use this glyph. Glyph of Long Charge, on the other hand, helps you move faster from one enemy to another when questing alone, while Glyph of Cleaving will increase your damage if you frequently use Cleave when surrounded by more than two enemies.

Glyph of Bloody Healing may be a useful minor glyph choice while questing alone, due to it increasing the healing you get from using your Bloodthirst ability; if you have no health issues, use Glyph of Battle.

    Considerations

    • The glyphs you use are not permanent and can be replaced at any time. Additionally, once you have learned a glyph, you won't need to purchase it again if you have used it before but have since replaced it with another. If you are unsure which glyphs would be best to use, try out several different ones and see what effect they have on your efficiency both while questing alone and while participating in groups, then choose the one you like the effect of the most.
