How to Get the Grappling Hook on Spy Island

Spy Island in "Poptropica" has exciting secret agent gadgets for your Poptropican, such as decoders, lasers and a grappling hook. Since it's a spy tool, the grappling hook is disguised -- as a bow tie. Equip your character with the bow tie and click the mouse button during a jump to activate it. The grappling hook reaches toward the nearest roof or ledge, allowing you to swing up to the platform. You need the grappling hook bow tie to get to otherwise unreachable areas on Spy Island.

Instructions

- 1
  Travel to Spy Island. Walk to the right and enter the headquarters. Jump up to the top level and speak to Director D. Leave HQ.

  Walk to the right and go into the Spyglass Eyewear shop. Speak to the doctor and ask to take an eye exam. Every time the doctor points to a symbol on the chart, click the one on the right that is the mirror opposite. At the end of the test, he tells you to meet him upstairs.

  Leave the shop. Walk to the left and climb the ladder that leads to a doorway on the left side of the building. Enter and speak to the doctor, who gives you a chameleon suit. Open your item case and put the suit on. Exit the room.

  Walk left to the docks. Walk left and jump up the ramps to the top of the building. Stop moving whenever a B.A.D. agent approaches -- your chameleon suit hides you when you're completely still.

  Run and jump off the left edge of the roof to a slightly lower roof. Avoid the guards and enter the door on the left.

  Go down through the levels of the room, avoiding the dogs by standing still. Jump down into a secret room on the left, where one of your fellow agents is held captive. Free him to obtain a laser pen. Jump out of the secret room and go down and to the right. Exit through the double doors.

  Walk right to Toupee Terrace and find the house with flashing security lights. Jump across the windowsills, avoiding the lights, to the peak of the roof. Click the grate to use the laser pen to cut through the bars.

  Enter the room and walk to the left. Free the second captured agent to get the grappling hook bow tie.
