God Mode
"God Mode" is a common handle for a powerful cheat or hack, which exploits a specific feature of the game. When players take damage in "MapleStory," they become invulnerable for a few seconds. The general God Mode hack tricks the game's server into always thinking that you recently took damage. As a result, the normally temporary effect of taking damage becomes permanent. The God Mode hack essentially renders you invincible. Since other players won't be able to defeat you when you apply the hack to the game, you will dominate them in combat.
God Mode Variations
God Mode comes in a variety of forms tailored to different combat situations. One variation is melee God Mode, which renders you impervious to physical attacks but leaves you vulnerable to magic. Blink God Mode provides the same effect as general God Mode, but it produces it by causing your character to constantly blink, making it impossible for other players to land a hit.

MapleNoobs CT, Duckieexdd CT, TwyLight v0.2, ZenXEngine and Revolution Engine all contain a variety of hacks, including God Mode.
Policies
Nexon has clear rules regarding the use of hacks in "MapleStory." It is considered abuse under the company's User Abuse Policy, which warns that "no sympathy will be given to abusive users." The penalties for hacking essentially follow a two strike rule. The first offense results in a 30 day ban from the game. If the company catches you a second time, it will permanently revoke your gaming privileges. When considering the use of God Mode or any other hack, take Nexon's advice and "think twice before you do something you may regret."
