Can You Move a Character to a Different 'World of Warcraft' Account?

Transferring Your Character

• Log in to your Battle.Net account and select the "World of Warcraft" account where the character you want to transfer is located. Click on the "Character Transfer" link at the bottom of the page, and use the drop-down menus to select the character. Place a check mark in the check box labeled "Click here to move this character to a different account." Doing this will bring up additional options, allowing you to use a drop-down menu to select a second "World of Warcraft" account on the same Battle.Net account or identify a second Battle.Net account where you want to move your character.

Restrictions

• All restrictions that apply to normal character transfers will apply when you transfer a character between accounts. Additionally, you can only transfer a character between accounts if you are the registered owner of both accounts. This restriction applies both to game accounts linked to the same Battle.Net account and game accounts linked to two separate accounts. You will also be unable to transfer a character from an account with several game expansions enabled to a character with fewer expansions enabled. For example, if one of your accounts has been upgraded to the "Cataclysm" expansion and the other only has the "Wrath of the Lich King" expansion available, you will be unable to transfer characters from the first account to the second.

Warning

• Sharing a single "World of Warcraft" account with other people is against the game's terms of use, as is selling "World of Warcraft" characters or accounts to others. The restrictions on the character transfer service will prevent you from moving characters from an account that doesn't belong to you to one that does. If you started playing on an account belonging to a friend or family member, you will have to abandon any characters you may have created on that account and start from scratch.

Exception

• If you are the parent or legal guardian of a minor and you were sharing your account with her, but she has since reached the age of majority, you may be able to transfer the characters she was playing to her own account. Contact Blizzard's Billing and Account Services Department to discuss the situation, and understand your options before initiating the transfer process.
