How to Add a Password to a World of Warcraft Chat Channel

"World of Warcraft" is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in the fantasy world of Azeroth. In the game, two factions, the Alliance and Horde, battle each other as well as common enemies. As the game features thousands of players, advanced chat channels allow users to communicate across the game world. Players can set up, moderate and password protect these chat channels to keep out undesirable users.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your "World of Warcraft" account and select the character who owns or who you wish to own the chat channel.

    • 2

Create a channel by joining a channel without users: Type "/join <channelname>" in the chat window, replacing "<channelname>" with the name you want for the channel. If you already own a channel, join it the same way.

    • 3

Type "/password <channelname> <password>" to create a password for the channel, using the newly created channel name for "<channelname>" and the actual password you want to use in place of "<password>". Users joining the channel will need to join by typing "/join <channelname> <password>" in the chat window.
