Instructions
Establish your role. Before you choose a class, decide what your preferred play style is. Some characters are better suited for heavy melee fighting -- or "tanking" -- such as the champion, guardian and warden. Other classes provide support, such as the burglar, hunter, minstrel and rune-keeper. Support classes keep a safe distance from the battle, providing ranged attacks, damage bonuses and healing.
Upgrade your equipment. Different classes use different weapons and armor. As you advance through the game, you gain access to better items that boost your ability to harm, heal and defend, among other things. Obtain equipment appropriate to your level in order to maximize your performance and maintain the best class possible.
Gain skills. As your character's level increases through quests and combat, you unlock new
class-specific skills. These regularly provide you with powerful special attacks, bonuses and other useful abilities. To obtain a skill, go to a class-specific trainer and learn the ability for a small fee. Upgrade regularly to keep your chosen class strong.
