How to Be Good at Bejeweled Blitz

"Bejeweled Blitz" is a version of the popular casual game "Bejeweled." This new version is an online game playable on Facebook. Each round is limited to 60 seconds and has the player match three or more gems of the same color to score points. There are a number of strategies players can use to get a high score and, combined with enough time and effort, almost anyone can become good at "Bejeweled Blitz."

Instructions

  Play fast. Speed bonuses are applied to your score for every match you make and are compounded every time you make one. Even low scoring three-gem matches can get you a high score if you make them fast enough to keep your speed bonus up.

  Look for gem multipliers. Activating these will combine with your speed bonus to double, triple or quadruple the amount of points you get for each successful match.

  Look for large matches. Don't make it your goal for the game, but if you happen to see four or five same colored gems next to each other, combining them can create special gems called "Hypercubes," "Flame Gems" and "Star Gems." These pieces create explosions on the board, destroying gems and giving you a lot of points.

  Look for matches on the bottom of the board to cause gems above the match to fall. The more gems that fall, the more likely that they'll fall into a space next to other gems of their color and create matches, which will give you points automatically.
