MapleStory
"MapleStory" is a free-to-play MMORPG developed by Wizet and Nexon in South Korea and distributed in North America by Nexon. "MapleStory" sets players in a colorful fantasy world full of quirky characters, creatures and adventure. Players can create a customizable avatar, choose a character class and embark on quests. Battling monsters and completing quests yields both experience rewards and loot, which can be used to improve your character.
Loot
Loot is the general term to describe items and currency dropped by monsters. These items can be just about anything, from equipment and health restoration items to additional ammunition for ranged weapons and even seemingly junk items. Most items can be traded with other players or sold for Mesos, the currency employed in "MapleStory."
Looting Restrictions
Fundamentally, when loot drops, all you have to do is walk up to it and pick it up. However, there are a few restrictions in place to keep the game fair for all players. These include a 10-second delay on a loot drop. This limit restricts the loot from being picked up by anyone other than the player or party that killed the monster for 10 seconds. After that time limit, the loot is free for any player to pick up.
Trade-Capable
Not all loot can immediately be traded. While many loot items can be freely traded between players, some items bind onto a character when they are picked up. Many of these bound items can be rendered trade-capable with a purchase of Scissors of Karma and Platinum Scissors of Karma, two items available in the game's Cash Shop.
