How to Kill a Resto Druid

If you frequently participate in player-versus-player content in "World of Warcraft," you may find yourself frustrated when attempting to kill healers. Restoration druids can be especially hard to kill because of their large amount of heal-over-time (HoT) spells, as well as their ability to remove all roots and snares through shapeshifting. Depending on what class you play and on whether you have the support of other people, there are several things you can do to make killing restoration druids easier.

Instructions

    • 1

Keep Mortal Strike or a similar debuff that reduces healing received on the druid. Abilities that apply such a debuff include a hunter's Widow Venom, a shadow priest's Mind Blast and a rogue's Wound Poison.

    • 2

Dispel the druid's HoTs whenever he applies them on himself; once he casts his "Innervate" spell on himself, dispel it as well. Abilities that can dispel HoTs and Innervate include a priest's Dispel Magic and Mass Dispel, a hunter's Tranquillizing Shot, a shaman's Purge and a mage's Spellsteal.

    • 3

Drain the druid's mana. The only ability that can do this is a priest's Mana Burn.

    • 4

Interrupt the druid's healing spells whenever possible. Abilities that interrupt enemies include a druid's Skull Bash, a rogue's Kick, a shaman's Wind Shear and a warrior's Pummel.

    • 5

Stun or fear the druid to keep him from healing, especially when your interrupt ability is on cooldown.

    • 6

Enlist the aid of your teammates to have as many people as possible focusing on the druid in order to overwhelm him.

    • 7

Outlast the druid. As powerful as a druid's healing abilities are, if you can keep dealing damage to him while remaining alive yourself, he will eventually run out of mana and be unable to continue healing himself.
