How to Build a Monk in Ragnarok?

The Monk class is a second-job advancement option for characters in the massively multiplayer online role-playing game "Ragnarok Online." Monks can learn healing and status-improving skills as Acolytes, but unlike the Priest class, they have strong attacks and can be used as a melee character instead of a support character.

  Log into your "Ragnarok Online" account and choose to create a new character. If you have used up all of your character slots, delete one of your current characters in order to proceed.

  Give your new character a name, customize his looks and add points to his beginning stats. Focus primarily on increasing your strength and agility stat. If you want your monk to have increased levels of chance and higher Perfect Dodge rate, you will need to add points to luck.

  Complete the training ground tutorials as a Novice until you reach job level 10.

  Go to the Prontera Sanctuary and complete the Acolyte job quest. You will be asked to speak with a non-playable character ("NPC") randomly assigned to you. Two of these NPCs can be found in Prontera. The third is located in the desert town of Morroc.

  Level your Acolyte by battling enemies in Culvert, Payon, Geffen Dungeon and Sphinx. Strive to increase strength and agility while capping your dexterity at 40, your intelligence at 25 and your vitality at 25.

  Go to Yoyo Forest northeast of Prontera when you reach job level 40.

  Speak to the Guarding Monk to initiate the Monk job test.

  Speak to Sensei Moohae. He will ask you to collect three items for him. The item sets he requests are randomly generated, so the monsters that drop them will vary.

  Speak to Touha. Memorize the randomized oath he tells you and repeat it back to him when prompted.

  Speak to Boohae and choose your preferred quest. If you select the Marathon, you will need to talk to Bashu and run laps. The Mushroom Collection quest requires you to collect a randomized number of mushrooms.

  Speak to Tomoon and navigate through the three rooms of invisible walls.

  Speak to Sensei Moohae again to become a Monk.

  Defeat Metalings on the Einbroch Field and the Endless Tower maps until you reach level 75. While you level, add skill points to Finger Offensive and Infiltration. These skills will help you advance.

  Battle monsters in Glast Heim and Minorous until you reach level 85.

  Join a party and fight monsters on the Lighthalzen Dungeon 3 maps until you reach level 99.
