How to Beat a Gem Shop

In a twist on the traditional matching-three computer game, HipSoft has added an additional layer by having players create fine pieces of jewelry for customers by making group matches. Players must keep customers happy by making matches quickly and giving customers treats, so they can earn enough money in their gem store to pass the board and move on to more difficult levels. Free online versions offer limited game play options or players can purchase and download the game from HipSoft for unlimited levels and play time.

Instructions

  Drag a row or column of gems to form a group of three or more. Groups do not need to be in a straight line, but diagonal matches do not count. Gems will vibrate to let you know a group is valid.

  Match three or more upgrade tokens to add the tokens to your supply. Use upgrade tokens to purchase upgrades for your customers between rounds, including more expensive jewelry and customer treats.

  Make matches quickly to keep your "Customer Happiness" meter full and earn more money when you make enough matches to fill the jewelry meter and make the item being purchased. Click on a treat at the bottom of the screen to refill the "Customer Happiness" meter if it gets low.

  Match larger groups of gems to fill the jewelry meter more quickly and earn more money. Create combo chains to earn multipliers.

  Move adjacent rows or columns of gems to match cracked gems that lock their rows and columns in place. Work around lumps of coal, as they can't be matched or destroyed.
