How to Get the PvE Honor in World of Warcraft

Videogame developer Blizzard Entertainment's "World of Warcraft," or "WoW," boasts thousands of subscribing players who compete against one another in an online fantasy world of swordplay and monsters. Players not only go head-to-head; another form of combat is Player versus Environment, or PvE, where players must battle against the non-playing characters like ogres, trolls, dragons and goblins in order to survive. Doing so ups the character's honor, which increases in-game status, just as long as some guidelines are adhered to.

Instructions

    • 1

Log on under your screen name to your "WoW" account. Select which type of game you're interested in playing; in this case, choose PvE, so other players currently engaged in the game cannot attack or disrupt your quest to gain honor. Arm yourself well with as many weapons as you can, the more powerful the better, before you leave the town and head to the hills or the badlands or wherever you choose to wander.

    • 2

Consult in-game info on each character you encounter. Info is available on your HuD, or "Heads Up Display." Generally speaking, to gain honor while playing PvE, the rule is to only engage monsters or baddies that have a higher ranking than you do; you'll also have to be a good guy yourself, so if you began your "WoW" career as a thief, you'll more than likely need to restart as a more honorable character.

    • 3

Pick fights against those monsters that are only 10 to 20 points higher. Remember, the higher their ranking, the more they'll be able to dish out damage and despite some victories you'll spend precious resources patching yourself up in preparation of the next battle.

    • 4

Attack and dispose of monsters, the more despicable the better. Initially the better choices are those beasts that plague local villagers or the surrounding areas around settlements. This will earn you instant honor among the townsfolk. Once your PvE has risen by a few points -- you'll need to stay busy to keep it up -- continue to attack monsters within your target range to continue earning PvE honor.
