What Is the Fastest Way to Get a Moon in Ogame?

"OGame" is a real-time, text-based massively multiplayer online game by Gameforge AG. OGame takes places in universes that are broken down into galaxies, planetary systems and planet slots. Slots are where moons, planets and debris fields are located. Moons form from debris fields made by large space battles. The fastest way to get a moon is to engage in combat with other players.
  1. Moons in OGame

    • In OGame, each planet can have one moon. During play, a moon can be attacked six times within 24 hours. The planet it orbits can be attacked six times, as well. A moon forms instantly from the debris field floating in orbit around a planet after a clash or battle. The moon is used to create a colony as an extension of the planet it orbits. It can be a base for your fleet or you can attack another player on it if you find them there. You can also build jumpgates and sensor phalanxes on your moon. Sensor phalanxes allow you to track enemy fleet movements around your moon for a better tactical advantage during combat. Jumpgates are used to instantly transport your fleet to another moon in a different galaxy.

    Moonchance

    • For every 100,000 units of metal or crystal present in the debris, a 1- to 20-percent chance exists that a moon will form from the debris made by a battle. This is called "moonchance" in the game. If you have a successful moonchance, a moon is created. The moonchance percentage is based solely on the total amount of metal and crystal units in the debris field; nothing else in the game contributes to it. The total percentage of moonchance does not increase through gameplay, nor does it add to any new battle debris fields. The size of the moon depends on the amount of metal or crystal in the debris field. A high percentage of units in the debris field creates a larger moon.

    Getting a Moon

    • The fastest way to get a moon is to get fleet-crashed during battle and lose more than 1.2 points of metal resources in your destroyed ships. Thirty percent of the resources from destroyed ships enter the debris field and contribute to your moonchance. If you don't want to wait to lose a battle and fleet-crash during play, you can team up with another player and plan a "moonshot."

    Moonshot

    • Arranging to have someone send ships at you to destroy your fleet and make a debris field with up to a 20-percent moonchance is called a "moonshot." The person you team up with needs to have the same amount of resources as you, so you both lose a fleet of the same value and gain the same amount of resources in the debris field. During a moonshot, let the other player crash and destroy your fleet to make a debris field. Then, that player crashes their fleet for you to both have a high chance of getting a moon. After you get a moon, you can create jumpgates and sensor phalanxes on it while rebuilding your fleet.
