Why Is My Camera on World of Warcraft Stuck in First Person?

"World of Warcraft" is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Blizzard Entertainment. "World of Warcraft" allows players to customize their interface and field of view to suit individual preferences. The process of configuring the viewing distance is fairly straightforward, but there are a few factors that can cause problems.
  1. Key Bindings

    • By default, "World of Warcraft" allows the player to zoom in and out of first person view with the mouse wheel. The first step in troubleshooting a view that is stuck in first person is to check the key bindings. Press "Esc" to open the main menu and select "Key Bindings." Verify that the "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out" functions are bound to the mouse scroll wheel.

    Settings

    • Press "Esc" and click "Interface," then select "Camera." Inspect the camera options and verify that they are correct. Toggle "Water Collision" and "Follow Terrain" on or off to attempt to free your character from first person view.

    Add-ons

    • If you have a large amount of add-ons installed, it is possible for some to conflict with each other and cause display issues. From the character screen, click the "Add-Ons" button and then click "Disable All" to shut off all of your add-ons. If this solves the view issue, you can go back and enable the add-ons one by one to determine which one was causing the problem.

    UI Reset

    • As a last resort, it is possible to reset the User Interface (UI) back to default, which should clear up any viewing issues. Resetting the UI will cause you to lose all custom settings, so you may want to write down important settings before performing this operation. To reset the UI, exit the game and navigate to the folder where the game is installed on your computer. Delete the Cache, WTF and Interface folders and restart the game.
