How to Get Riding Requirements in The Lord of the Rings Online

  Level your character up to level 5 or until you reach the "novice trait." This will unlock the riding trait in the LOTRO store.

  Access the LOTRO store in the game. You can access the store by clicking the gold button at the bottom of the screen on the right.

  Purchase the riding skill. At the time of publication, riding skills cost 95 Turbine Points. The skill will appear under the "Misc. Passive Skills" located under the passive section of the "Skills" menu.

VIP Members

  Play "The Lord of the Rings Online" and complete quests until your character reaches level 20. At this level, the riding trait quest will be unlocked.

  Visit Hengstecer's farm. The farm is located north of Bree-Town, in the Bree-Land zone.

  Accept and complete the "Proving Your Quality" quest given by Éogar. After completion, Éogar will give your character the riding trait, enabling you to ride and own permanent mounts.

Using the Riding Requirement

  Purchase your mount. You can complete this either at Hengstacer's Farm or the LOTRO store.

  Open the "Mount" panel. The panel is located under the skills section of the character journal.

  Choose your mount and drag the horse icon to your hotbar. To ride your mount, click on the icon.
