How to Hide an IMVU Account

On the 3D chat and games site "IMVU," users receive a free avatar homepage that displays information about them. The homepage features panels with personal details such as your age and location, friends, photographs, interests and messages. You can edit the page to remove or hide individual panels or set a "private mode" that hides all panels from public viewing. To set the private mode, you simply need to access your "IMVU" avatar homepage "Account" settings.

Instructions

  Select "Account" on your "IMVU" avatar homepage.

  Scroll down to the "Friend &User Settings" section. Click "Become invisible" to remove your account from the "Find a Friend" panel.

  Continue down the page to the "Panel Visibility Settings" section. Select "Off" from the "All panels:" drop-down menu.

  Click the "Update Preferences" button to update the changes.

  Go to your avatar homepage. You should see the following message: "You have turned all of your panels off. Your homepage currently appears to be in private mode to the world."

  Log out of your "IMVU" account and then go to the public version of your homepage. Your "IMVU" name will still appear on the page, but visitors will only see the following message: "This homepage has been marked private by its owner."
