What Do You Have to Do Before You Go to Nightshade in Wizard 101?

In the massively multiplayer online game, "Wizard 101," Nightshade is considered the strongest and most difficult boss in Wizard City. Lord Nightshade is a wizard from the death school making it difficult for other death school students to defeat him. As a reward, Nightshade drops a plethora of items including gold, clothing, jewelry, treasure cards or mounts. There are several quests to finish before locating Nightshade in "The Dark of Nightshade" quest.
  1. The Triton Report

    • Susie Gryphonbane gives out the Triton Report; she is located in Wizard City on Triton Avenue. The goal of Triton Report is to locate and speak with Merle Ambrose in his home in Wizard City. You must do this twice more under different quest titles before going to Lord Nightshade. The Triton Report rewards 250 experience points and leads to the additional quests needed.

    The Rescue Report

    • Nolan Stormgate, located in Cyclops Lane, gives out the Rescue Report. Nolan sends the player back to Merle Ambrose to give him information. This quest also rewards 250 experience points and a spirit shield.

    Danger, Danger!

    • Danger, Danger is given by Private Quinn in Firecat Alley. This quest sends the player back to Merle Ambrose for a final time. This quest rewards 250 experience points and a royal bed. Each time the player returns to Merle Ambrose, he or she is given a little more of the story line. The player must accept the "A Look of Horror" quest from Ambrose to continue the story and find Nightshade.

    A Look of Horror

    • In this quest players travel to Olde Town and locate Foulgaze in Sapphyra's Tower. Foulgaze is a ghost with death school training and must be defeated. Once you kill Foulgaze, he drops a special tower key. You must then return this key to Merle Ambrose to complete the quest. Completing this quest rewards 250 experience points, a wooden table and a magic ring. After returning the ring, Ambrose sends the player on "The Dark of Nightshade."
