How to Play Witches Brew

Click "Start Game" at the bottom of the "Witches Brew" screen. When prompted, select a playing level -- easy, medium or hard -- and then click the arrow. The main "Witches Brew" game screen will appear and the cursor will change into a large hand.

Move the hand cursor toward the bottom of the screen. The spell book will pop up to show you the ingredients needed to complete the spell. After you've reviewed the spell, click the arrow to start playing.

Click and drag any item in the room you need for the spell to the cauldron. Release your mouse or trackpad key or pull your fingertip from the screen to drop the ingredient into the cauldron. Some ingredients such as newt's eye require repeated shaking over the cauldron; if prompted, shake the ingredient in the direction of the arrows that appear above the cauldron.

Make an ingredient from another ingredient. For example, click and drag a live fish from the fishbowl on the fireplace mantel to the guillotine on the table. Release the fish to place it in the guillotine and then click the device to decapitate the fish so you have a fish head for your spell. Click and drag the head to the cauldron and drop it in.

Check the spell book as you work to see the number and type of ingredients you still have to gather. The book updates automatically as you fill the cauldron.

Drag the spoon to the cauldron when prompted and stir the potion until the cauldron lights up indicating you have successfully made the potion.
