How to Make a Second City in Travian

As players expand their dominions in "Travian," an online browser-based, real-time strategy (RTS) game, new subordinate territories offer increased resource production and tactical support for established villages. Players who cultivate large armies and advanced manufacturing facilities rely heavily upon resource imports from such colonies to sustain their growing populations. The Hero's Mansion allows players to send a village hero to convert any vacant territory on the game map to a functional supporting city.

Instructions

  Stockpile resources until you have accumulated at least 700 lumber, 670 clay, 700 iron and 240 crops. Click on an empty building site in your home village and choose the Hero's Mansion from the list of available buildings. If you have not unlocked the Hero's Mansion, click on the "buildings" button at the top of the screen to view its prerequisites.

  Click on your Hero's Mansion after its construction is complete and select any active troop in your village to upgrade the troop to hero status.

  Click the "Map" button in the top navigation bar to view the world map. Click on any vacant map territory to view its resource distribution. Choose a location for your new city. Consider factors like resource composition, distance from your main village and distance from enemy territories when selecting a new village location.

  Click on the territory you want to settle and select the "Found New Village" option in the pop-up menu to send your hero to conquer the new territory.

  Click on the new settlement after your hero arrives and begin to develop your city. Raise the levels of the village's resources first and use the accumulated resources to buy buildings, train troops and purchase upgrades. Use your troops to import and export resources from other cities that you own.
