Badges from Friends
Develop a network of friends on "IMVU" via 3-D chat and by joining groups and going to forums.
Look for a "My Badges" or similar panel on your friend's avatar homepage and badge icons with "Request badge" buttons next to them. Click the button next to the badge you want to get.
Send a polite request to a friend asking for a specific badge he created; or asking to trade a badge you have with one he has. Explain why your friendship with him means so much to you and why you want to display his badge or trade for a badge in his possession.
Gift a friend with a badge that you created or a badge from a developer site. Sometimes, after you give a badge as a gift, a friend will gift you a badge in return. If you're gifting a developer badge, look for "Give a Badge" or similar panel on the developer homepage, insert your friend's avatar name in the field provided and then click the "Give Badge" or similar button.
Badges from Developers
Go to the homepage of a developer whose products you like. If you've never visited a developer homepage, simply go the developer's "Products by" IMVU Catalog page and click the avatar profile picture at the top of the page.
Look for a "My Badges" or similar panel or badges icons with "Request badge" buttons next to them.
Click the button next to the badge you want. Typically, you'll receive the requested badge almost immediately after clicking the button.
Badges in Other Locations
Go to any "IMVU" general user or developer homepage and click the avatar picture to see the user's collected badges displayed in a badge grid below it. Click a badge to display badge and creator details in a pop-up window. Click the badge creator's homepage link to go to the homepage and, when the page appears, look for and then request the badge.
Click the avatar pictures of visitors to your homepage. As with general user and developer avatar homepages, when you click the avatar picture of a visitor on your own "IMVU" homepage you can see the badges the visitor has collected. Follow the instructions in Step 1 to acquire new badges.
Search for badges in badge-related groups. Click "Groups" on the Community drop-down menu on your "IMVU" avatar homepage, type "Badges," "Free Badges" or "Trade Badges" in the "Search for groups" field on the IMVU Groups Web page and then click the "Go" button.
Select a group from the Groups results list. Join the group and then follow the group instructions for collecting badges. In addition, follow leads provided by other group members about locations where you will find additional badges.
