Resurrection Sickness
The most common debuff that might cause your stamina to display in red is Resurrection Sickness. This debuff is applied to your character whenever you choose to resurrect at a Spirit Healer rather than run back to your corpse; it decreases the damage you deal and all your attributes by 75 percent, and will last from one to 10 minutes depending on your level.
Consuming Items
Consuming some types of food, drink or potions may have an adverse effect on your stamina. For example, Raptor Punch, a drink rewarded by a low-level quest in the Northern Barrens, will increase your intellect by 5 but also lower your stamina by 5 for five minutes. Similarly, the Fel Strength Elixir, created by alchemists, will increase your attack power by 90 and lower your stamina by 10 for one hour.
Items That Decrease Your Stamina
A handful of items available in the game will decrease your stamina when you equip them, such as Fletcher's Gloves, crafted by leatherworkers. These items will typically offset the stamina reduction by providing a greater than usual bonus to some other stat, such as intellect or ranged critical strike rating.
Stamina Loss Caused by Fight Mechanics
Certain dungeon encounters may have mechanics that lower all or some of your attributes during the fight. For example, some enemies found within the Utgarde Pinnacle dungeon will cast Shrink, a curse that decreases your strength and stamina by 150 for two minutes. Similarly, Gothik the Harvester, a boss found within the Naxxramas raid dungeon, will decrease all your attributes by 10 percent every 15 seconds during the second phase of the encounter.
