City Placement
The optimum strategy is to resist any temptation to build your cities right next to each other for several reasons. First of all, if you are attacked by enemies, it will make it easier for them to hit both cities. Second, spreading your cities far apart allows you to claim more territory and wilderness as your own. Third, if you are able to locate your cities in different provinces, you will gain access to two separate markets.
Food Supply
Your population will determine the size of the army you can build; however, troops will quickly desert you if you cannot sufficiently feed them. The key to long-term success is learning how to properly and effectively manage your food supply. Build a solid base of food production in your fields while maximizing recurring bonuses that add to food production. Recurring bonuses continue to work in your favor even when you are offline, while nonrecurring bonuses are only good for short-term effects.
Armies
Armies will ultimately determine your success in Camelot. Large, diversified armies will allow you to conquer high-level barbarian camps and better protect your cities. Diversified armies include a balance of archers, heavy cavalry, pikemen and swordsmen. Building armies that consist of only one type of unit should be avoided, as such armies may be susceptible to enemies that attack their weaknesses.
Might
Might is the measure of your overall success and power. You can increase your Might by constructing new buildings, increasing your army size, strengthening city defenses and upgrading fields. Losing troops in battle or to desertion will cause your Might to decrease.
Alliances
To reduce the risk of attack from other players, you should join an alliance as soon as possible. When you help other members of your alliance build items, you will earn a Merlin's Token once per day. You can use Merlin's Tokens unlock high-end gifts later in the game.
