What Moves in WoW Cause the Target to Bleed?

In "World of Warcraft" one of the most popular online games, there are several different effects that can be applied by attacks or moves. A bleed effect causes the target to take additional damage over time; bleed effects are impossible to remove unless your character is a dwarf, a mage or a paladin. Several different character classes have attacks that apply the bleed effect.
  1. Druid

    • Druid characters have four attacks that cause the target to bleed. Lacerate is an attack that can be performed in Bear form, although the damage done by the bleed is fairly negligible; the other three attacks causing bleed effects, Pounce, Rake and Rip, can be performed in Cat form. Pounce can be used from only stealth; it stuns the target and causes minor bleed damage. Rake can be used at any time and causes average bleed damage; this ability also grants one combo point. Rip is the strongest bleed damage a druid character has access to; it is a finisher move, performed once you have built up at least one combo point on your target, and the bleed damage done is increased by the amount of combo points consumed by it. All bleed effects are increased by the druid's attack power.

    Rogue

    • Rogue characters have two abilities that cause a bleed effect. Garrote can only be used from stealth; it silences the target, causes average bleed damage and grants one combo point. Rupture is the strongest bleed damage a rogue character has access to; it is a finisher move, performed once you have built up at least one combo point on your target, and the amount of combo points consumed by the ability increases both the duration of the bleed and the damage done by it. All bleed effects are increased by the rogue's attack power.

    Warrior

    • Warrior characters can use the Rend ability to cause average bleed damage to their target when in Battle or Defensive stance. Damage done by Rend is based on the average damage dealt by the warrior's weapon. Additionally, a warrior character who places at least five talent points in the Arms talent tree gains access to the Deep Wounds talent. This talent causes critical hits with any ability to apply bleed damage to the target; the bleed damage ranges from 16 percent to 48 percent of the average damage dealt by the warrior's weapon, depending on the amount of points invested in the talent.

    Hunter

    • Hunter characters who specialize in the Marksmanship talent tree have access to the Piercing Shots talent. This talent causes critical hits with the Aimed Shot, Chimera Shot and Steady Shot abilities to apply a bleed effect to the target equal to a maximum of 30 percent of the damage dealt by the ability, depending on the amount of points invested in the talent.

    Weapons

    • Occasionally, you may encounter a weapon that has a chance to apply a bleed effect when hitting an enemy. There are very few weapons of this type in the game; all bleed effects applied by these weapons can be considered minor and do very little damage.
