Things You'll Need
Instructions
Download and install the UT Skin Maker program. Open the program after it has been installed.
Click "File." Click "New" on the "File" sub-menu, and click "New Project."
Select a character whose wire-frame model will serve as the basis for the skin you will be creating. Select "OK" when you are done.
Click the "File Name" box in the window that appears. Choose a save name and type it after the character model name in the box. Select a folder to save the new file under and click "Save."
Find the character model name in the "Skin Editor" list. Right-click it and click the "New Skin" option. Type a name for your skin in the "Skin description" box and select a four-letter ID code for the skin. Click "OK" when you have typed all this in.
Find the "Chest" box and right-click it. Select "Add Texture." Click the "..." option to find an image file on your hard drive. These files are usually under the file extensions .JPG, .PNG, .GIF, or .BMP. The file that you select will be the skin for the chest of your character model. When you have found the texture you want, set the text as "<Default>" and click "OK." The image will wrap itself around your model's chest. The same steps are used for the "Legs," "Arms" "Head," and "Hands" options on the "Skin Editor" list.
Use the left button of your mouse on the character model in the right pane after you have placed the skins. This will allow you to move, flip and rotate the model so that you can inspect the finished model for any incongruenties.
Click on "Actions" at the top of the UT Skin Maker window. Click "Compile Project to UTX/INT and Install in UT." Click the "OK" button to compile the skin. This will automatically compile the skin and install it into your Unreal Tournament 2004 program.
