How to Fish in MapleStory

"MapleStory" is a side-scrolling massively multiplayer online role-playing game that is free to download and play. The fishing system in "MapleStory" is considered a mini-game, and it is available in all versions except "GlobalMS," "EuropeMS," "KoreaMS" and "BrazilMS." Players generally fish for the experience rewards, which may seem small to newer players but are actually quite substantial at higher levels. Fishing can also reward you with Mesos, minerals and gems, and it is the only way to obtain the rare quest "Secret Dish of Great Chef."

  Head to the Cash Shop and purchase either a Fishing Rod or VIP Fishing Rod. The VIP Fishing Rod is more expensive, but it will guarantee you catch at least one fish every 30 seconds -- double the rate of the regular Fishing Rod. You may also purchase a Delicious Bait Can, an item that increases experience and Mesos earned by 1.5 while fishing.

  Head to any town where Kedrick is available. Kedrick is located in Henesys, Perion, Ellinia, Sleepywood, Kerning City, Orbis, Ludibrium, El Nath, Mushroom Shrine, CBD and Showa Town. Kedrick is not located in Aquarium, a place where many players tend to look first.

  Speak with Kedrick and buy a Fishing Chair for 50,000 Mesos and some Fishing Baits. If you purchased the Delicious Bait Can earlier, you can exchange it for 120 Delicious Baits from Kedrick.
Fishing

  Talk to Kedrick again and select the option to enter the Fishing Lagoon.

  Click the tab labeled "Setup."

  Double-click the fishing chair to start fishing. A "SUCCESS" message will appear if you a caught something significant; otherwise, your yield will be 10 Mesos.
