How to Fish in Ironforge

The city of Ironforge is the Dwarven stronghold in Blizzard's wildly popular massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "World of Warcraft." The fishing skill is one of four secondary professions that enable you to catch fish that can later be cooked as food for your character to eat. Food gives your character temporary statistical bonuses that can strengthen it in combat. While the majority of fishing areas are located outside of cities, there is a small pool of water located in Ironforge that can be used for fishing. This is the only location where the rare fish "Ironjaw" can be caught.

Instructions

  1. Travel

    • 1

Enter Ironforge and turn left so that your character is heading north following the path. The city of Ironforge is laid out in a circle and this path runs along the outer diameter.

    • 2

When you reach the Forlorn Cavern you will notice a small body of water on your right-hand side.

    • 3

Move your character to the edge of the water, which is the optimal location to begin fishing. Your character must be facing the water or the game will not let you cast.

    Fishing

    • 4

Open both your character and inventory windows and then click and drag your fishing pole onto your main weapon slot.

    • 5

From your character window click the fishing icon to begin. You will see a brief casting animation and your fishing bobber floating in the water. Place your cursor directly over the fishing bobber and you should see the icon change to a small gear wheel.

    • 6

Wait for a fish to bite as indicated by the bobber splashing and an audible tone. Quickly click on the bobber in the water to reel in the fish.

    • 7

Click on the loot window to store the fish in your backpack and repeat as necessary.
