PC Cheats for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

The PC game, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," was released in 1999 in response to the popularity of the television game show. The PC version of the game puts the player in the "hot seat," where he must answer questions in hopes of reaching the million-dollar question in the game. Just as on the television show, players are given a series of lifelines to help them get through the game successfully. For players of the PC game who want to make the questions harder or easier, there are a few cheats you can utilize.
  1. Harder Questions

    • If you're finding the questions in the game too easy, you can increase the difficulty of the game by simply entering in a specific name at the beginning of the game. When prompted, enter your name as "John Carpenter," and you'll find that the questions get harder. John Carpenter is the name of the first million-dollar winner of the game show in 1999.

    Easier Questions

    • If you want the questions to be even easier than normal, ignore Regis' request to enter your name at the beginning of the game. After a moment, he will type in a name for you -- Kathie Lee. Playing as Kathie Lee will give you the easiest questions on the game.

    Fun Cheats

    • Although these cheats won't help you win the game, they can make the game more fun. To make Regis Philbin mad and cause him to shut off the game, purposely answer the questions during the fastest finger contest incorrectly. Or, when Regis asks you how many players will be playing the game, refuse to answer. After a few funny jokes, the game will automatically shut off.

    Repeated Questions

    • Although the questions may not be easy, you'll likely remember the answers from the first time you saw the questions. To use this cheat, type your name in as "Regis Philbin." This will prompt a series of repeated questions that should be easy for you to answer the second, or third, time through.
