How to Convert ESPs to ESMs

In the game "Morrowind" for the personal computer, it is possible to create modifications to the game, allowing for more freedom and opportunities in-game. To modify the game, you may need to directly alter esp files, which are plug-in (or add-on) files for the game. Even after doing so, some players find that the game "Morrowind" has many glitches when running the esp file. In such a situation, it may prove fruitful to convert the esp file into an esm (or master game file), as doing so may remove problematic glitches. To make this conversion, you will need special software.

Morrowind Enchanted Editor

  Download the Enchanted Editor software, which is available in the Resources section. Connect to the Planet Elder Scrolls website and click on the file named EnchantedSetup091c.exe to download this file.

  Run the Enchanted Editor setup file and install the software. Double click, or directly open after downloading, the EnchantedSetup091c.exe file. Follow the directions in the setup menu and let the program run. When finished, it will place a Morrowind Enchanted Editor program file in your Program Files folder.

  Open Enchanted Editor. Double click on the Morrowind Enchanted Editor icon in its program files folder or on your desktop, if you chose to place a desktop icon.

  Open the esp file in Enchanted Editor. Click on "File" and then navigate your computer's directory to find the esp file that you want to convert to an esm file. Click "OK" to open this file.

  Convert the esp file to an esm file. Click on "File" and then "Change File Type." Choose "ESM" and click "OK." The program will then convert your esp file to an esm file.
