Cheats for The Sims 2 by Maxis

In "The Sims 2" you get the chance to control the life of one or more Sims, who are digital people, in their town as they grow up, get a job, go to school, fall in love and everything else you'd expect in a virtual world. The game comes with some cheat codes available, so if you want to take the easy road, you've got a few interesting options available.

Cheating in The Sims 2
- Most of the fun in "The Sims 2" comes from helping a person or an entire family family make their way in the Sim world, whether it's at school, work, in the home or with friends. You can have plenty of fun with cheating, but you may not want to cheat your way to victory and miss out on the satisfaction of raising a Sim family and successfully reaching your Sims' aspirations. If you do decide to cheat, you can access the cheat window by pressing and holding "control," then "shift" then "c." After that you just type in the cheat code you want and press "Enter."
Safe Cheats
- Most of the cheats you'll want to use won't cause any problems with your game. If you want to make some quick money, you have a couple of option. Type "Kaching" to earn 1,000 simoleons instantly, or, if you're really feeling greedy, type "Motherlode" to instantly gain 50,000 simoleons. Another cheat may come in handy once you've reached a comfortable situation with your Sim family; you might not want them to grow up or grow old. In that case, type "Aging off" to keep your Sims forever young -- or forever middle-aged or forever an elder, as the case may be. To revert to normal aging, type "Aging on". If you open the cheat window and decide you don't want to use any cheats, type "Exit" to close it out.
Problem Cheats
- Some cheats are available that make gameplay interesting but could end up causing problems, so use these at your own risk. To change your Sim's height, type "StretchSkeleton" and a number, like "StretchSkeleton 1.2". The number 1 is normal height for any given Sim, so a number like "0.8" makes your Sim a little shorter and "1.1" makes your Sim taller, though character animations may not work correctly. You must choose a number between 0 and 2. Another interesting cheat is "faceBlendLimits off", which removes restrictions the game imposes on the rules for a child's facial features. Turning this off may result in children being born with bizarre faces. You can turn the setting back on with "faceBlendLimits on".
Neighborhood Cheats
- If you're just tired of all those nosy neighbors bothering you, go to the neighborhood view and use the "deleteAllCharacters" cheat to remove every Sim from the neighborhood. Just don't be surprised if you start to feel lonely in a day or two; you can't bring them back. You can also change the look of the neighborhood by typing "TerrainType desert" or "TerrainType temperate" to switch to a different climate.
