How to Fish in Virtual Villagers: The Tree of Life

In "Virtual Villagers 4: The Tree of Life," your villagers start out with very little by way of food and shelter. As the villagers gain skills and learn new technology, the tribe flourishes. The sea is full of fish, providing an unlimited source of food, but your villagers need technology and materials to catch the fish. With repaired fishing nets, your tribe never has to go hungry, and you should make this task a priority early in the game.

Instructions

- 1
  Drop an adult villager on the fish bones on the east side of the village. She takes bones from the skeleton and brings them to the lab, where they're shaped into tools.

  Place an adult villager on the pile of dry wood to the left of the wooden staircase to build a fire pit. Drop an adult villager on the dry grass at the base of the wooden staircase to add the grass to the fire pit. Place an adult villager on the fire pit to start the fire.

  Place at least one adult villager on the broken piers on the east side of the village to repair them.

  Buy Level 2 of construction for 5,000 tech points. Buy Level 2 of science for 8,000 tech points. The foundation for another hut, in which cloth can be constructed, appears in your village.

  Assign at least one adult villager with building skill to complete the cloth hut.

  Place an adult villager on the pulpy vines on the rock wall to the left of the wooden staircase. The villager takes a tool from the lab and cuts the vines, bringing them back to the lab.

  Drop an adult villager on the bowls to the right of the wooden staircase to collect salt water and fill the pot in the laboratory. Place an adult villager on the pile of rocks to the left of the steps leading to the lab to heat a rock in the fire pit. Drop an adult villager on the rock in the fire pit when it turns red. She picks up the rock and places it in the pot of water, setting it to boil.

  Drop an adult villager on the collected vines. He cooks the vines in the boiling salt water, making it into pulp.

  Place an adult villager on the pot. He spreads the pulp on a rock to the right of your cloth hut.

  Drop at least one adult villager on the pulp to make it into cloth. Place the villager repeatedly on the cloth until you reach 100 percent completion and receive three bolts of cloth.

  Repeat the process of turning vines into pulp and pulp into cloth until you have nine bolts of cloth.

  Place an adult villager on the repaired docks. She takes the cloth from the hut and constructs fishing nets. Drop her on the dock repeatedly until the nets are completely repaired.

  Drop an adult villager on the docks to collect the fish from the nets.
