Motive Cheats on The Sims 2

"The Sims 2" is the sequel to the bestselling strategic life simulation computer game "The Sims." In it, players control Sims, or computer simulated humans, who function as they would in real life by holding a job, creating and maintaining relationships and satisfying eight basic needs or motives. The motives in "The Sims 2" are hunger, comfort, hygiene, bladder, energy, fun, social and room.

Tips to Satisfying Motives
- There are no cheats available to directly satisfy individual needs; however, you can take advantage of weaknesses in the game to otherwise do this. Water, available free of charge from any faucet or water fountain, will provide a temporary relief of hunger for your Sim. In order to receive groceries free of charge, order them through delivery. When the delivery Sim arrives, fail to answer the door and the food will be left out front. Pick them up and put them away. You'll find that you have not been charged. Also, when your Sim visits a public lot, he will grow tired and his energy will empty, but he will never pass out. If you find your Sim on a public lot with a low hygiene level, washing his hands will relieve this need temporarily.
Max Motives
- There is only one direct cheat to enter that will allow you to max or completely fill all eight motives of your Sim at once. To enter this cheat, hold down the "Control," "Shift" and "C" buttons simultaneously. This will open the console window, where all cheats must be entered. Once there, type "maxmotives," without the punctuation, and hit enter. The selected Sim will experience maximum motives for all eight categories, and a corresponding maximum happiness.
BoolProp
- Often referred to as the "boolprop" or "truefalse" cheat, this action gives the player great power within the game. To use it you must go to the neighborhood window and open the cheat console. Once there, enter the cheat "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true," without the punctuation. Now go to a family's home. Once there, either click the mailbox or the individual Sim. Now you are able to drag each individual motive, adjusting it to suit you. This same cheat allows you to adjust other features such as the traits, aspirations, skills and age of the Sim.
Aspiration 7
- Though technically an aspiration cheat, aspiration 7 will max out your Sim's motives as well. To enter it, open up the cheat console with "Control," "Shift" and "C." Once opened, enter "aspiration 7," without the punctuation. Your Sim's aspiration meter will surge to platinum and all motives or needs will be filled.
