Fun with History
Gunnar Games developed "Hidden Mysteries Civil War Secrets of the North and South" for gamers and history buffs alike. This game has 20 levels and eye-catching artwork. During the game, you join General Walker, an Abraham Lincoln loyalist, as he searches for clues all over different battlefields in the game. You can unravel mysteries through letters and items. When the search becomes too frustrating, you can also play the mini-battle game based on Minesweeper.
Relaxed Mode
If it is your first time, you might get aggravated if you have to search for more than 30 items with a time limit, so if you aim to beat the game, you should choose the "Relaxed Mode" option before the game starts. Also, it is best to play in full-screen mode, as some items are too small or too blurry to find. Remember that some items will not appear as they are; some are blended into the background.
Hard-to-Find Items: 1861
Some items are hard to find in the game due to their location and appearance. In 1861 --The Battle of Fort Summer, you can find the "quill" on the top left side of your screen; it looks like a red feather and it'll be somewhere in the arch. The "world map" is another hard to find item in 1861 --The Battle of Fort Summer. It is etched into the floor and looks like a dark stain. In 1861 -- Battle of Wilson's Creek, you have to find a "tomato." Unlike the stereotypical tomato, this one is actually green and you can find it on the top right side of your screen in the bushes.
Hard-to-Find Items: Near the End
If you have reached 1865 Appomattox Court House, congratulations, you are a level away from the end of the game. If you are looking for the "egg," it is brown and you can find it on top of the mantle on the wooden clock. The "moon" is on the fireplace. There are also several important items on the desk, so keep clicking on it to make sure you don't miss anything. Finally, in 1865 -- Ford's Theater, the last part of the game, the "hockey puck" is on the red sofa. The "moon" is on the carpet. The "Santa hat" is on the red wall paper. The "sock" is colored white on the curtains. When you are asked to find the "president," click on the name carved on the back of the chair.
