How to Summon a Tank in Left 4 Dead for PC

Left 4 Dead is a co-operative multi-player PC game that pits you and your friends against hordes of the undead. Scattered throughout the waves of normal zombies are elite undead known as "special infected." The most powerful and challenging special infected is called the "Tank." The Tank is larger and stronger than any other zombie in the game, and there are usually only one or two in each level. If you'd like to summon a Tank to fight at any time, you can do so by using a cheat code.

Instructions

  Select "Options" from the main menu. Choose the "Keyboard/Mouse" sub-menu. Enable the "Allow Developers Console" option, then go back to the main menu.

  Start a new game on any level. Press the "~" key on your keyboard to bring up the developers console. Type in "Sv_Cheats 1" and then press "Enter" to turn cheat codes on.

  Aim your crosshair using your mouse at the location you'd like to summon a Tank. Press the "~" key to bring up the developers console, then type in "z_spawn tank." This will summon a Tank to the location of your crosshair.
