Spiderman 2 Game Cheats for the PC

SpiderMan 2 is a PC game released in 2004 that ties in with the movie of the same name. Unlike many franchise games, the PC edition was completely different to that produced for games consoles, causing some complaints that it was too easy. There are, however, still a variety of cheats for the game. As with any PC game cheats, players should carefully back up any files that they intend to modify as part of a cheat. A text editor such as Windows built-in Notepad is the best way to modify files where a cheat requires it.
  1. Change health

    • This requires the player to have a saved game. The cheat works by editing two files that can be found within the directory "Spider-Man 2\System". The first file, "gamestat.ini", must be edited so that the line " MaxHealth=100 // 200 is upgraded value" has a higher number in place of the 100. The second file, "systemgame#.ini" (with the # being the number corresponding to the saved game), must be edited so that the line "Health=100MaxHealth=100" has larger numbers in place of the 100s. The player can use any number as a replacement, though with the latter file the value for Health should not be larger than that for MaxHealth as this could cause problems.

    Unlock all spiders and prisoners

    • This cheat is activated by opening the file in the "Spider-Man 2\System" folder named "game[number]" with the number corresponding to the saved game the player wants to run the cheat on. The player then simply deletes all the information in the file relating to spiders and prisoners. When they next play, all prisoners and spiders will be available.

    In-game cheats and tips

    • There are several "cheats" which can be used without modifying files. These include climbing up a wall faster by getting on to a wall and them jumping and crawling at the same time. Another "cheat" is to jump on top of a vehicle, which will allow the player's character to move around the city at a greater speed. It is also possible to access the Statue of Liberty. This is done by holding on to a helicopter and jumping into the water as close as possible to Ellis Island. This allows the character to climb out of the water on to the island.
