How to Kill Olaf on Stronghold 2

Well into the campaign of "Stronghold 2," players will capture the estate of Olaf. The next chapter finds the player with the missions of building up the estate to support the player's army; to take control of at least six neighboring estates; and to kill the player's rivals, Olaf and Edwin. Olaf can be difficult to kill. If he isn't approached in the correct manner, his mercenaries and berserkers will tear apart even a well provisioned force. However, with the proper strategy, this formidable enemy will fall.

Instructions

  Build up your captured estate in order to train, feed, and house an army of archers, spearmen, and catapults. While the actual estate layout is up to player preference, it is recommended you try to maintain a 100 percent popularity with the population of your estate and that you put your men on double rations.

  Train 40 archers, 25 spearmen, and six catapults.

  Move your soldiers just outside your gatehouse. This should put them in range of the wandering band of berserkers.

  Bombard the berserkers with your catapults, then move in with your spearmen, backed by your archers, to finish them off.

  Order your men to the beach side of Olaf's village.

  Bombard the mercenary tenets with your catapults. Position your archers and spearmen in front of them to protect them from retaliation.

  Move up the beach once the mercenaries are dead, so that the walls of the village are in the catapults' range. Use them to punch a hole in the walls.
- 8
  Order your archers to shoot through the hole in the wall, killing the troops and weakening Olaf.
- 9
  Send your spearmen in to finish the job once Olaf is suitably weakened.
