Cheat Engine
"Balloon in a Wasteland" doesn't have any cheat codes built into it, so you'll need to use Cheat Engine to help you cheat. Cheat Engine is a tool you can use to change variables in a game. In fact, you can actually make the game harder with Cheat Engine if you are so inclined. Cheat Engine has many features, and you can download it free (see Resources). Cheat Engine won't always work with every browser when cheating with flash games. If you have problems, try switching to a different browser.
Cheat Engine Setup
Once you've started the "Balloon in a Wasteland" game in your browser, you should set up Cheat Engine for "Balloon in a Wasteland." Click the "Computer" icon in the top-left corner of Cheat Engine and select the browser running "Balloon in a Wasteland" from the list. Change the "Value Type" to "Double" in the drop-down menu, which causes three radio buttons to appear with new game options. Click the radio button next to "Rounded (Default)."
Health
You can change your health levels in "Balloon in a Wasteland" to any number you want. You can lower it to make it harder, or you can make it unrealistically large. Once you've set up Cheat Engine for use with "Balloon in a Wasteland," start the game and pause it while you're playing. Enter your current health into Cheat Engine's "Value" field and click the "First Scan" button. All values matching your current health will appear in a box on your left. There isn't any real way to tell which one is for your health other than trial and error. Double-click the first result, which will drop it into the bottom box. Then, click the check box in the "Frozen" column in the bottom box, and double-click the number under the "Value" column in the bottom box. Enter a new health value like "9999" and click the "OK" button. The change will show immediately in your game. If it doesn't change, click the "Frozen" check box again for that value and try the next result from the scan. Sometimes, you'll get way too many results from your scan. In these cases, just play the game, and take some damage until you get a scan that has fewer results.
Stamina
In "Balloon in a Wasteland," your stamina will constantly decrease throughout the game, but you can change this value as well. Once you've set up Cheat Engine, launched and paused "Balloon in a Wasteland," enter your current stamina into Cheat Engine's "Value" field and click "First Scan." You have to use trial and error on the results like you did with health. Just double-click the first result from the left-hand box to send it to the bottom box. Click the "Frozen" check box, and double-click the number under the "Value" column. Enter a new stamina number, and click "OK." If it changes immediately in the game, then you got the right one. If it doesn't, then click the "Frozen" check box again and try the next one in the scan results. If you get too many results from this scan, you can play the game for a little bit, and try again. Your stamina automatically goes down as you play.
Money
Money is a valuable asset in "Balloon in a Wasteland." You use it to buy guns, traps, a fort and upgrades to your fort. Having an infinite amount of money might be the most useful cheat. Once Cheat Engine is set up and you've started the game, play until you defeat the first wave of enemies. Defeating the first wave will give you enough money to make the Cheat Engine scan significantly easier. Pause the game and enter the amount of money you have into Cheat Engine's "Value" field. Make sure you include the two numbers after the decimal. For example, if you have $265.00, make sure you enter the decimal and both zeroes into the value field like this: "265.00." Click "First Scan," and use trial and error on the results like you did with health and stamina. Double-click the first scan result from the left-hand box to send it to the bottom box. Click the check box in the "Frozen" column in the bottom box and then double-click the number in the "Value" column. Enter a new number for how much money you want and click "OK." If it's correct, your money will change immediately. If it's not correct, click the "Frozen" check box again and try the next result from the scan.
