Things You'll Need
Instructions
Back up all saved games by copying them to another file or a USB memory device. The process may delete all current saved games.
Download the program Alcohol 120% from the references section.
Download the program Daemon Tools from the references section.
Open Alcohol 120% and insert the game disk of the game you wish to patch into your computer.
Click on the "Image Making Wizard" selection on the top left part of the menu.
Open the "DVD/CD device" menu at the top of the Image Making Wizard and select the type of disk drive you are using. Underneath is a menu called "Read Speed"; open this and change it to "1x at 150kb/sec."
Look for several checkable boxes in the lower left on the screen. Make sure only the top box is checked. This is the "Skip Reading Errors" box.
Hit the "Next" tab and the bottom right.
Select a location to save the mini image on your computer from the menu to the left. Name the image whatever you would like at the bottom left below where you selected to save it. Remember the name of the image you selected.
Open the menu at the bottom right called "Image Format." Select "Media Descriptor Image File .mds."
Click on the "Start" tab below.
Wait for at least three reading errors to occur. These errors appear as a small yellow triangle with an exclamation point in them. After these pop up, select "Cancel" from the bottom right of the screen.
Select "Yes" when asked if you wish to cancel the copying process. When asked if you want to delete the files, select "No." Select "Finish" and close Alcohol 120%.
Look for two files to be created where you selected--one is a MDF file and one is a MDS file. These files need to stay together to make the mini image work.
Open the program Daemon Tools. Right-click on the "Daemon Tools" icon in the bottom right of the screen. Move your cursor to "Virtual CD/DVD ROM." Move the cursor over to "Device" and select "Virtual Drive".
Select "Mount Image." Another menu will open. Select the file you named in Step 9. This will "mount" the mini image in the virtual drive. You can now play your game without the disk. In order to play different games without the disk, be sure to open Daemon Tools and select the correct mini image for that game before launching the game.
