Hint Button
Use the "Hint" button to highlight the location of an object on your list, receive a clue during a puzzle, or to find out how to use inventory items. Use the "Hint" button sparingly. The button slowly refreshes itself as you find objects, so it may be a while before you receive one after using one. Search very closely for an item before requesting a hint.
Getting Inside The Gate
Get past the gate to enter the property. To do this, find the wrench by clicking the bushes to the right side of the gate. Use the wrench to open the face of the intercom at the left of the gate. Solve the puzzle inside, and you will receive a key to unlock the center of the gate.
Your Journal (The Book)
Your case is compiled in your journal. The pictures that appear in your journal, as well as the notes, can be very helpful in finding your next important clue. Look through the book often, especially when you become stumped.
Words With Multiple Meanings
There are several items on the hidden objects lists that could be more than one object. For example: "pipe" may mean a smoking pipe (for tobacco) or it could mean a pipe for water. Look for both because even from area to area, the meaning of a word can change from one item to another.
