Kill Bees
Your first quest involves fighting bees. After completing the quest, continue returning to the hive and fighting the bees. This fighting experience will be invaluable later. How much you gain is limited only by how long you want to fight bees. Don't use bread to heal. If Ean or Iya gets weak, return to the village and sleep. Iya will disappear then, but Ean can return to the bee hive and gain more experience before going to search for her.
Use this method throughout the game to increase fight experience and gold by refighting single monsters (or groups equal to the members of your party) where you find them. Choose monsters you can kill with one turn so you don't take injuries.
Don't Spend It All in Once Place
Fighting bees accumulates gold as well as experience. How much gold again depends on how long you choose to fight bees. Buy some bread for healing, but keep most of the gold. Very soon you will encounter ice amulets and blizzard rings to purchase. They are expensive and you will eventually need one for every member of your party.
Save It
Always save your game before you enter a new location, fight a new creature, or push a new lever. Remember the Elder Oak's prophesy. You won't regret it.
Brick Walls Aren't Always Brick Walls
There are secret passages where you will discover chests full of weapons, battle gear and other goodies. One is in Spire Mountain, another is in The Woodlands and others appear throughout the game. These passages look like dead ends or solid walls. Go forward to enter and collect the goodies. Always check solid walls by walking forward.
Kill the Beast
Cross the bridge and open the hole. Wait for the beast to come. Watch him. He will move back and forth. When you understand the timing, close and open the hole very quickly (just double click). The beat will be gone.
Ultimate Goodies
The game designer has provided a number of cheats she calls "goodies." Definitely collect "Keep Gavin and Nicholas" and "Multiple Spheres."
