In-Game Cheat Console
In order to use the in-game cheat console you'll need to enable it. Use any basic text editor to open the "config.cfg" file of "Euro Truck Simulator" and look for the lines that read "uset g_console "0" and "uset g_developer "0." Change each "0" to a "1," save the file and exit the text editor. Start "Euro Truck Simulator" and you can now access the cheat console during game play by pressing the "~" button on your keyboard. Once the cheat console is open, enter the code "cheat money" to add an extra £50,000 to your bank account. You can also use the code "edit" to open the game's map editor.
Alternate Cheats
Another method of cheating in "Euro Truck Simulator" involves opening the file "game.sii." Again, this can be opened and edited with any basic text editor. Look for the lines that read "total_distance," "red_light_fine_count," "total_fuel_price" and "money_account." The values after each of these variables can be changed to meet your needs. Save the "game.sii" file before closing it or your cheats will not take effect.
Configuration File
Even more cheats can be entered by opening the game's "config.cfg" file. Just like with the other cheats, this file can be opened, edited and saved with any basic text editing program on your PC. Change the line "uset g_police "1" to "uset g_police "0" in order to remove any police presence on the streets, and change the line "uset g_traffic "1" to "uset g_traffic "0" in order to clear the roads of any other traffic as well. You are now free to drive as fast (or as reckless) as you'd like.
In-Game Hints
If you want to cheat in "Euro Truck Simulator" without editing any of the game's files, press the "F" button on your keyboard while driving in order to turn on your hazard lights. No cars will dare overtake your semi while its hazard lights are constantly blinking, and this makes for a much easier drive through the streets.
