Aces High 2 Cheats

"Aces High II" is an online World War II air combat game in which you can battle against hundreds of other players over land or sea or engage in one-on-one dog fights. Alternatively, you can choose to practice offline, which is the only place you can take advantage of Aces High II's solitary cheat code.
  1. Version 2.09

    • To use this cheat, you will need to have version 2.09 of Aces High II or later. To ensure you have the latest version, you can simply connect to the game's servers, which will cause the game to automatically update, or you can download the 2.09 patch. To find this patch, follow the link in the resources section.

    The Cheat

    • Once you are updated to version 2.09, select ̶0;Offline Practice̶1; from the main menu and then enter the hangar. You can now press the ̶0;/̶1; key to bring up the radio bar. Type in the cheat code ̶0;.showrv̶1; without the quotation marks. Leave the hangar in order to allow the plane list to refresh. The next time you return to the hangar, the RV-8 will appear as an option on the plane list.

    The RV-8

    • While unarmed, the RV-8's single propeller, straight winged appearance is at least in keeping with the aesthetic of World War II fighters, despite the fact that the RV-8 was meant for aerobatic and recreational uses and didn't even enter the market until the year 1996.

In the context of the Aces High II, one amusing thing you can do with the RV-8 is fly into a headwind with the wind speed settings turned up to full and attempt a landing. This will give the RV-8 the appearance of hovering as it lands.

    Hints

    • Know your weapons. Be familiar with all of the aircraft and the roles they are best suited for. Even if you don't plan on flying a particular aircraft it can still be used against you.

Spectate during battles to see what tactics the best pilots use and try to emulate them. Also, feel free to ask better pilots for advice. Most of them are looking for good fights and will be happy to share advice.

Fight offline against drones to practice maneuvers, but play against pilots who are slightly better than you to improve your skills.

Film your battles and watch them soon after when the battle is fresh in your mind. Watching these films can show you more clearly what mistakes you are making and how you can improve your flying.

Try to stick to a single plane as you are learning the basics. There are subtle differences between each plane so don't complicate the learning curve by switching planes when you don't have to.
