How Do I Beat the Duels of the Planeswalkers Challenge Expansion 1 in 'Magic The Gathering'?

Based on the trading card game from Wizards of the Coast, "Magic: The Gathering" allows players to summon demons and cast spells during one-on-one combat with opponents. The "Duels of the Planeswalkers: First Expansion" gives players new cards that they can unlock after completing the expansion pack's three new challenges. To beat "Duels of the Planeswalkers," players must win duels against Jace Beleren, Elspeth Tirel and Liliana Vess. Winning these duels requires players to play specific cards in order to weaken and defeat their opponent.

Instructions

    • 1

Cast Etherium Sculptor, Master of Etherium, Howling Mine, Onyx Goblet and

Loxodon Warhammer during your first turn against Jace Beleren. Activate the Onyx Goblet's ability targeting Beleren, and then cast Terror on his Wall of Air. Attack with all of your creatures, and with his wall unable to block, you will reduce Beleren's hit points to zero.

    • 2

Target Elspeth Tirel's untapped Angel of Mercy, and your own Mudbutton Torchrunner with Jagged Lightning after summoning Brablewood Paragon on your first turn. Use the Mudbutton Torchrunner's ability on Tirel, while casting Vengeful Firebrand. Attack with Tirel with both Vengeful Firebrand and Bramblewood Paragon to win the duel.

    • 3

Begin your first turn against Liliana Vess by casting Plains, because you will need plenty of mana to win this duel. Summon and attack with Ambassador Laquatus, and then immediately cast Condemn" on "Laquatus before Vess has a chance to block. Casting Condemn will send Laquatus back to your library instead of the graveyard, so you can draw him again later.

    • 4

Cast Kiss of the Amesha, and target yourself as the recipient of the spell's effects. You can now redraw Ambassador Laquatus and pick up Wrath of God from your library. Cast Wrath of God to clear the battlefield.

    • 5

Wait for your next turn as Vess casts Phage the Untouchable and Nightmare to end her turn. Play another Plains card, and recast Ambassador Laquatus. Tap all of your available mana, and use Laquatus' ability to remove the remaining nine cards in Vess' library. With no cards to draw at the beginning of her next turn, Vess will lose the match when your turn ends.
