In-Game Menu
Press "F1" during game play to access the in-game menu. From here you can choose "Back" to resume your current game, "Save" to save your current game, "Load" to load a previously saved game and "Exit" to return to the main menu of "Crime Stories."
Finding and Using the Cell Phone
In order to use the cell phone in "Crime Stories," you must find it first. Pick up the home telephone in the living room and select "Martin" from the list in order to call your own cell phone. Next, click on the sofa, find your cell phone and put it into your inventory.
You can use your cell phone at any time during the game by selecting it from your inventory. Scroll up or down until you find a name you want, then click on it and press the green button to make your call. Talking to certain characters on the phone may reveal important information that you may not have attained otherwise.
Retrieving Martin's NYPD ID
Martin's NYPD ID can be found in his home during Act 2 of "Crime Stories." To get it, you'll need to enter the basement of his home through the door that is located just to the left of the bookcase in his living room. Take the latex glove from the box of gloves and look at the washing machine. It's jammed shut, so you'll need to return to the kitchen for some grease remover, known as "a powerful substance." This can be found among the detergents on the shelf under the table. Use this on the door of the washing machine and retrieve Martin's ID from his wet trousers.
Hotspots
Scrutinize every area for hidden or hard-to-find hotspots. Make sure to click on everything that looks remotely suspicious to see if you can uncover any hidden evidence. Remember to right-click on objects to take them. Items that are taken from a scene will automatically be put into your inventory.
Dealing With Dark Graphics
The game's graphics can be quite dark in some areas, so you may want to adjust the settings on your monitor in order to make the graphics a little bit brighter. This will make it easier to locate hidden clues and evidence in darker areas of "Crime Stories."
