Free Potions
To build up the potions that will keep Lex the Bookworm in fighting shape, go to a minigame. Rather than expending all your potions trying a minigame you know you will fail, allow Lex to die and repeat the minigame from scratch. Every time you die and repeat, you will build up potions and experience that will allow you to get the edge in those challenges that are just beyond your means.
Costumes for Lex
"Bookworm Adventures" contains a few hidden outfits that are only revealed through cheat codes. To unlock and have Lex wear the turkey outfit, go to the main page and type "gobble" on your PC keyboard. To have Lex go through the game in a party hat, type "Celebrate" on the main page. You can also make Lex a little sweeter by typing "Lovely" at the main page. This causes little hearts to float around the bookworm for the duration of the game.
Weather Effects
There are also cheat codes that can unlock different weather effects to break up the look of the game. You may find that playing with snow or rain improves your ability to focus for long periods of time, as it reduces the static nature of the display. To turn on the snow effect, type the cheat code "Winter" on your PC keyboard at the main screen. The cheat code "Seattle," entered in the same way, adds a drizzling rain effect to the game screen.
Unlockables
"Bookworm Adventures" contains several unlockable game extras. If you know where these are hidden, you can work toward these goals to get to the extras! To unlock the Tome of Knowledge, a database of all enemies and monsters that have been faced, complete Book One of the game's Adventure Mode. Completing Book Two of Bookworm Adventures' Adventure Mode unlocks the Minigames, which provide varied challenges and an opportunity to build experience and potions. Completing Book Three of the Adventure Mode will open the challenging Arena, where tough enemies can be faced down; complete this mode to unlock the bonus Clips and Giggles gallery.
