Options
Before starting a game, you can choose to customize the options to best fit your playing style. Look for "Settings" under the "Options" menu at the beginning of the game. From there you can change the traditional settings, such as language, along with other options that can help you out. Try a game with four players if too many players is distracting for you, or move up to five or six players if you like more action. The sound and music can be turned off or on if it bothers you, and best of all you can adjust how long each half of the game lasts. Choose a short game when you're just starting out. Use this short game to get warmed up and test out the different controls and power-ups available.
Power-Ups
Power-ups are your secret to winning any soccer match in LEGO Soccer Mania. Unlike a real soccer game, you can use power-ups to gain special abilities for a short amount of time. These abilities may be the extra boost you need to score that final goal.
Lightning and Strongman are among the best power-ups for your character. Lightning makes you run faster while Strongman makes you invincible. Save these until you're running for the goal, then use them to get past the other players and make it harder for them to block your shot. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme is another good power-up because it allows you to steal power-ups from another player. Wait until further into the game when they're likely to have several good power-ups instead of in the beginning when they may have only one or two.
Power-ups exist for the soccer ball itself as well. According to Game FAQs, the Rocket Ball and the Exploding Ball can help you out of a tough spot. The Rocket Ball can get you past a tricky goalie by shooting toward the goal and making it harder to block while the Exploding Ball knocks players around you out of the way, giving you more room to run. The Steal the Ball power-up will bring the ball instantly to your feet and is perfect when you're standing in front of the goal. Save your power-ups and use them one after another when you need to make a comeback or shoot the last goal to win the game.
