Hook, Line and Sinker
Some fish are a relatively easy catch. Others, not so much. One way to make catching them a little easier is to set your reel speed to 5 prior to casting. Crank it up to 9 on the meter once you feel a fish nibble at the bait. This automatically hooks the nibbler on your line, but take care when reeling in your catch. Continuously change the angle of your rod tip to keep tension on your line. Keeping the line straight while reeling in might reduce line tension, thus giving the fish a chance to escape. Another method to make hooking a fish easier: find a school of bass lurking under the water and park your boat relatively close. Set your reel to 5 and your drag to 3 and cast close to your boat, not close the schooling fish. Allow your line to sink, then slightly jerk your line upward, creating a bobbing (jigging) motion. Continue doing this and soon a fish will take notice. Elevate your fishing rod and keep the line down by pressing the left mouse button. After a few seconds, you̵7;ll get a bite, so remember to alter the angle of your rod to keep tension on the line when it reeling the fish in or your risk losing the catch.
