Diablo 1 Trainer Cheats

A trainer is a program designed to intercept a game's memory addresses and alter them so that the player can gain certain benefits in the game. Trainers are often used for online play, which is highly frowned upon in the gaming community. There are many trainer features available for the Diablo game for the PC that are accessible in two of the most popular trainers, Doom-Gaze's trainer and BoBaFeTT's trainer.
  1. How to Use a Trainer

    • Download and extract a trainer that is compatible with your version of the Diablo version. Doom-Gaze's trainer is compatible with 1.09a and BoBaFeTT's trainer is compatible with 1.07. Once the trainer is ready to go and you have read the "readme" file, open Diablo and use Alt + Tab to go back to your desktop. Open the trainer. The trainer should give you a list of players. Select the player you wish to edit and click on edit. Alter the character as you see fit and save it. Once you have modified your character and saved it, use Alt + Tab to get back to the Diablo window. Load the character and start playing.

Some trainers will be slightly different than others, but trainers are typically packaged in a compressed file known as a Zip file that will contain the executable program (.EXE) along with some written instructions on how to use it. Be sure to read and follow the included instructions, often in a file called "readme" (.TXT), when using a trainer, because some of them will have bugs that must be observed to use in the game. For example, when using Doom-Gaze's Trainer for Diablo 1.09a, you must equip something to your character before moving after using the trainer or the game might crash.

    Trainer Features

    • Although there are several different trainers available, most of them build on the same features. These features include "God Modes" which allow a player to become invincible to other players or monsters, or to become immune to the loss of mana from casting spells. Level hacks give the player access to abilities and spells that would not normally be available to their level, or they allow a player to begin at a level they have not actually achieved. There are also some more specific trainers available for Diablo. These include faster hit recovery, the ability to see invisible units, the ability to kill units with one hit and the ability to kill players using God Mode cheats with one hit.

In addition to cheats, trainers also provide fixes. There are item bugs and other issues, sometimes caused by cheats, that can cause Diablo to crash. Some trainers include fixes that can be loaded to prevent these crashes.
