How to Access the Cow Quest in Diablo

The cow quest in Diablo began as a joke that said players could access a secret cow level by clicking repeatedly on a particular cow. In truth, clicking on cows in the game result only in annoying the cows and having your character make snide remarks. Hellfire, Diablo's official expansion pack, does feature a cow quest in homage to the joke.

  Install Diablo Hellfire and the Diablo Hellfire 1.01 patch.

  Create a new text file called "command.txt" with the word "cowquest" in it and save it in the folder where Hellfire is installed.

  Play Diablo Hellfire until you have cleared out the Catacombs or your character has reached Level 15.

  Go by the cows, where you would normally find Lester the Farmer. In his place, you will find a Complete Nut dressed in a cow suit. He will give you a Rune Bomb to open the Nest and ask you to find his moose suit.

  Drop the Rune Bomb at the entrance to the Nest--across the bridge at the fork in the river, to the southeast.

  Clear out all four levels of the Nest. You will find the Complete Nut's donkey suit on Level 3 and his moose suit on Level 4.

  Bring the moose suit to the Complete Nut. He will reward you with the Bovine Plate, a set of armor that looks like a cow.
