Cheat Codes
The Age of Kings has 16 cheats that can be activated by pressing "Enter" during game play and typing in one of the codes below.
Each cheat within the first category of codes increases one of your resource counts by 1,000, allowing you to build structures and train units immediately rather than wait for your peasants to gather the appropriate resources and return with them to your town hall. For gold, type "robin hood"; for wood, type "lumberjack"; for stone, type "rock on"; for food, type "cheese steak jimmy's".
Other cheats can lead to a quick victory or defeat. With the cheat "i r winner", victory is instantaneous. The same is true of defeat with the cheat "resign". Another cheat, "black death", kills off all of your opponents while "torpedo(number 1-8)" eliminates the player corresponding to the number entered. Finally, "wimpywimpywimpy" destroys all of your units, effectively causing you to commit suicide.
The next set of cheats are related to the game's units. The code "natural wonders" gives you control of all animals on the map while "to smithereens" spawns a saboteur for your use. "how do you turn this on" gives you a machine-gun equipped Cobra car, and "i love the monkey head" grants you a tall and fast, but otherwise useless, villager.
The remaining cheat codes are rather varied. The code "aegis" increases build speed, while "marco" displays the entire map. "polo" removes fog of war.
Command Line Codes
The following parameters can be added to the command line in order to achieve the desired effect. The first three parameters control screen resolution. "800" will set the resolution to 800 by 600, while "1024" will set the resolution to 1024 by 768 and "1280" will set the resolution to 1280 by 1024.
Other parameters affect sound. "Msync" will fix freezing issues affecting SoundBlaster AWEs while "NoTerrainSound" will disable sounds associated with moving over different terrain types, "NoMusic" disables music and "NoSound" will disable all sounds except those that occur during FMV cutscenes.
Of the remaining parameters, "autompsave" will enable an auto-save feature while "NormalMouse" changes the mouse pointer to a standard pointer and "Mfill" fixes display problems with certain video cards.
